This post, these pictures are beautiful. And inspiring. And I love that woman in black. (in the picture of the Wainwright building).

And the foxgloves (?) along the waterfall.

Beautiful.

Thank you so much Catania! We really did fall in love with Keswick - and I think the photos reflect those emotions ❤️

Love this…”And every visitor — ourselves included — ends up coated in some mix of mud, rain, and wonder” nailed it!

Don’t feel bad about missing Scafell.. it’s something of an understatement.. I’ve done it a few times and on every occasion, the next boulder always looks higher. The summit looks like a field of boulders.

Snowden (can’t recall the official Welsh name and I refuse to use google for something so trivial after 10pm) has proper views.

If you’re back in North Wales again, I heartily recommend it.

I googled Scafell and it’s officially off the list! That summit looks like the set of a medieval obstacle course - all boulders and bravado.

We actually visited Snowdonia yesterday and it didn’t disappoint. Thank you for the tip - it was stunning. Rugged, wild, and full of that quiet kind of awe. North Wales really brought the drama in the best way.
